Hey Everyone! I bet you're all wondering if your shoes have been shipped or not. We're very excited to let you know that we started shipping yesterday and by next Thursday expect each Sole mate to be on their way to each of you. When your pair is shipped we will email you your tracking number. Plus, if you provided your phone number that can receive SMS messages, then you'll receive updates from DHL that your shoes from Atrezza are on their way.
We had to jump through a lot of pandemic hoops to get these shipped out in time, which makes it even more rewarding for us that we're still on schedule and by next month at the latest you'll be able to Get Your Candor On.
Long Version:
Until a month ago our plan was to ship each of your shoes with UPS or Fedex based on quotes we received a few months ago. We'd pack the boxes and they'd fulfill them. We knew that both the timeline and cost would go up, but we were surprised when we found out that the cost was now multiplied by 4 and the new delivery estimate was 2-3 months (with no guarantee) instead of the original estimate of 4-5 weeks. This wasn't acceptable to us so the hunt began for alternative options. In our campaign we projected shipping in October and don't want to disappoint our amazing supporters. While it only took a week to find an alternative solution, the amount of work required on our end would be enormous, and a task we'd never done before. By becoming the fulfillment center ourselves from Medellin we could reduce the cost, timeline, and ship directly to you, but it required filling out enormous amounts of paperwork for each shipment. You'll soon see when you open your box ;). We weren't equipped for this in both personnel and equipment. With the clock ticking we made an assessment that we could get it done but it would take a lot of extra hours that we didn't have and buying extra supplies for the packets. My cofounder along with his wife extended their stay in Medellin by 2 weeks and burned the midnight oil to make it happen for each one of you.
We're now proud to say that the first shipment has gone out and some of you have already received your tracking number! We started with backers receiving 2 or more pairs of shoes because we were still waiting on the mailing bags for single pairs, which we got today. We're also still waiting on some other raw materials like belt buckles. We expect to complete shipping for all backers by next Thursday.
